A file failed to process

When a file fails to process

Occasionally a file may fail and appear in your Inbox with an error indicator. Here is what usually causes it and how to fix it.

Common causes

  • Corrupted file — the file cannot be opened. Try re-exporting from its original source.
  • Unsupported format — check the supported file types list.
  • Password-protected PDF — Tuck cannot extract text from encrypted PDFs. Remove the password before uploading.
  • File too large — files over 50 MB will fail. Compress or split the file before uploading.
  • Temporary error — wait a few minutes and retry.

How to retry

  1. Go to your Inbox in Tuck
  2. Find the failed file (red error indicator)
  3. Click the retry button next to the file

If retrying does not work

Email hello@tuckhq.com with the filename and description of the error. We respond within 48 hours (24 hours for Pro users).
